Bus

NOTE: No bus service stops at the bus stops near seat / telephone kiosk on Kirkby Lane, Stokesley side of the cross roads. The signs are archaeological treasures, like the school sign hidden in the bushes on Hill Road.

Route No. 80 stops in Kirkby on Kirkby Lane on the Great Broughton side of the cross roads. A modern bus stop sign with time table is next to the notice board but none on the opposite side of the road, so wave your arm / jump up and down when you see a bus. It is also best to wait 10 minutes before and 15 minutes after the advertised times, which in the current jargon are, on balance, aspirational.

Route No. 89 links Northallerton and Stokesley but does not pass through Kirkby.

For times and stops, please view Abbotts timetable.

The above service is supported by North Yorkshire County Council – for more information on this and other routes see North Yorkshire County Council – Public Transport Information – Hambleton Routes.

The price of rail tickets varies considerably and it is always cheaper to buy them before you travel on line. Some times it is cheaper to buy two single trip tickets rather than a return or even to split a single journey into 2 or more legs. Don’t forget your 33% discount if you buy one of the many railcards.
